Folded Fabric Coasters
Class Description
Join us for a fun and creative sewing class where you’ll learn how to make beautiful folded fabric coasters — the perfect quick gift or home décor accent! In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll use simple folding and stitching techniques to create a set of reversible coasters with a charming geometric design.
You’ll learn:

How to select coordinating fabrics for visual impact

The folded construction method for seamless edges

Tips for accurate pressing and stitching

Optional embellishments (topstitching, decorative stitches, or buttons)
By the end of class, you’ll leave with a completed set of 4–6 coasters and the skills to make more at home. Great for scrap busting and perfect for gift giving!
Skill Level
???? Beginner – basic sewing machine knowledge required.
Supplies Needed
Fabric:

(4) 5" x 5" squares of fabric for coaster bases (can use charm squares)

(8) 5" x 5" squares of coordinating fabrics for folded triangles

Optional: batting or flannel squares (4) 5" x 5" for extra padding
Tools & Notions:

Sewing machine (with basic straight stitch)

Thread to match or contrast

Scissors or rotary cutter & mat

Quilter’s ruler

Iron & ironing surface

Pins or clips

Fabric marking pen or chalk (optional)
Each participant will learn the skills to create at least one coaster and be comfortable stitching a complete set on their own.
Your machine in good working order, including the foot control & power cord
Thread to coordinate with your fabrics. NOTE: Some projects require 100% cotton thread, others may require embroidery thread.
Needles appropriate for project.
