Embroidery Techniques - Basic

Learn the basic embroidery techniques to get started - or enhance your skills - in this rewarding hobby.  Classes are scheduled every other month for 2025.  Techniques include embroidery on towels, applique, embroidery on knits, embroidery on glass, an in-the-hoop project, and free-standing lace.  Note this class is to learn the technique and does not complete projects (except the ITH project).

NOTE:  This is not a "learn your machine" class.  You must be familiar with your machine and able to thread the machine, wind bobbins, change the needle, and similar tasks.  A new owners class for embroidery or equivalent is required prior to class.

Schedule of classes (subject to change):

January - Towels

e will review embroidering on various styles of towels and discuss which stabilizers are appropriate for which technique.  If you are unsure of which stabilizer to bring, feel free to bring and assortment and we will review what you have.

Please bring towel of choice, either flat kitchen or terry.  We DO N)OT recommend bringing the towels you want to gift to someone for their wedding.  : )

Terry Towels - Floriani Perfect Stick or OESD Stabil Stick Plus, topper of choice (Heat Away, Wash Away or colored topper ... we will discuss all three in class)
