Instructor Bio: | 64 years ago, beginning at my mother?s knee, I began to sew. My mother was a well-known seamstress in our area of Pennsylvania. I began competing in garment making when I was in the 6th grade. By the time high school came around, I had a business making clothing for the teachers that were having children. My mother owned a fabric store in Media, PA and I worked for her sewing purses and bags. I have taken classes throughout the USA with the top sewing teachers in the garment and heirloom sewing industry for over 40 years. Living in the Tri State area, I have been able to take advantage of sewing lessons with Susan Khalje, a couture sewing expert and co-editor of Threads magazine. My personal sewing business centers around heirloom and custom sewing for children, as well as wedding gowns, prom dresses and specialty items for adults. I am a licensed Martha Pullen Educator. Currently, I am the President of the Smocking Guild of America, Helping people learn to sew garments is a true joy for me. I would love to have you join me in my upcoming classes. |
