May - Adventures in Vinyl

Discussion and samples of various types of vinyl – permanent, removable, heat transfer (HTV), glitter, glow in the dark, holographic, patterns.  What can we do with vinyl?  The possibilities are endless…apparel, accessories, home dec to name a few.  SNC built in designs can be cut directly or by using Canvas Workspace we will learn how to import cut files/SVGs (Scalable Vector Graphic), edit designs and then export to SNC for cutting.  How to install the SNC Roll Feeder (DX Models) will also be addressed.  The Roll Feeder gives the capability of creating large designs using rolled vinyl up to 6 ft.

June - Bling it On with Rhinestones

Rhinestones can be used to add that special touch to apparel and accessories but they can also be used to “bling” cards, wall designs, candles, ornaments…. to name a few.  Using the activation card included in your Rhinestone Kit and Canvas Workspace you will learn how to activate this “Premium Function”.  Once activated you will be ready to “bling it on”!!  Using materials included in the kit we will set up and cut a design and show to apply your rhinestones.  Examples will be shown to get your creative juices flowing.

July - Christmas in July Using Your Scan N Cut

The “Holiday Holly Wreath” (available for purchase at Sew What) will be the focus of our Christmas in July SNC class.  By using the pattern provided in the kit you will learn the steps for scanning a printed pattern into the SNC, how to transfer that scanned image to Canvas Workspace for editing purposes and then, transferring the design back to the SNC to be cut.  Preparing your fabric for the perfect cut will also be discussed.

August - Create Stencils Using Your Scan N Cut

Why would I want or need to create a stencil using my SNC you ask?  Have you thought about using your SNC to do Glass Etching?  This class will demonstrate choosing a design, creating a stencil, placement on a glass object and using a product called “Etch All” or “Armour Etch” to “etch” your project.  Other “traditional and nontraditional” uses for stencils will also be presented.

September - Trick or Treat Scan N Cut Style

A few “tricks” and a new “treat”!  Using techniques previously covered, put your SNC skills to work as we transition into the next season. This class will focus on Halloween themed decorations for your home using cardstock, a personalized bag for your own trick or treater using different materials such as Glow in the Dark vinyl, appliques cut from Halloween fabric and more.  Let’s not forget those Halloween candy boxes and treat bags to be passed out when the ghosts and goblins come knocking on your door.   As a special “treat” we will also look at the SNC “Foiling Kit” and explore new ways to add an extra special touch to your projects.

October - Paper Piercing, Embossing and Calligraphy

Days are getting shorter and the holidays are fast approaching.  It’s time to start planning gifts for friends and family with that “personal” touch.

Using the SNC Paper Piercing Kit, cardstock and vellum create a personalized  stationery set using designs included in the kit. Or you can go even one step further and emboss a monogram using the SNC Embossing Kit.  Did you know, in addition to paper, the SNC can also emboss on metal.  Consider an embossed metal picture frame or an embossed metal wall hanging for that someone special!  Next up…tired of addressing all those Christmas/holiday cards by hand?  Want to dress up your holiday table with professional looking place cards or maybe create an inspirational quote to be framed as a gift. The SNC Calligraphy Kit will add the perfect touch and no one will know you did not spend hours with pen in hand!

Samples from all three kits will be available to provide some creative inspiration!
