AccuQuilt GO! Monthly Project

AccuQuilt Classes are being presented via Zoom through June, 2021 at a minimum.  Paid students will receive a link 24-48 hours prior to the class start.

AccuQuilt GO! Monthly Project features a project or technique that can be completed in a single day.  Each month’s project or technique can be expanded to create a larger finished project, or you can create multiples to give as gifts.

January - Wonky Heart Mini Quilt
Learn to cut and piece the Wonky Heart block and make a 16” quilt top with 4 Hearts. Includes assembly, quilt sandwich construction and quilting demo. Just add binding or a pillow back!

February - Bowl Cozy
The bowl cozy is a great project die. In this class we will construct two different fabric Bowl Cozy’s and review some of the design “possibilities” that are possible with this versatile die.  (placemats, mobile, small basket, garden stake, crossbody bag and more!)

March - Strip Cutter Versatility
Learn to make strips, squares, tumblers and lone star shapes using the strip cutter.

May - Owl Die
Learn how to make all these cute applique animals with just these two dies! This is a technique class. The takeaway will be the knowledge of how to construct all these animal designs that can then be made into dozens of different projects (baby quilt, mobile, ornaments etc.). Layouts of all animals designs will be included for your future design reference.

June - Ohio Star Colorplay
Understanding how color changes the look of your block. The Ohio Star is one of the most versatile “BOB” dies. Using the same 4 colors you will learn how color placement can totally change the look of your block.  And with the large center square you can also add an applique design!

April - Pennants
Use the 3 shapes in this die to make a small banner using colorful fabrics. We will add 3” applique letters spelling “WELCOME” to complete the banner. Other uses for these shapes will also be discussed.

Instructor: Mary Anne Fontana
Instructor Bio: Mary Anne Fontana is a self-taught sewer, quilter and textile artist. She started sewing at the age of eight and though sewing has always been a part of her life, the love of quilting has grown over the years into a full-time passion. Prior to owning an AccuQuilt, Mary Anne could only make 3-4 quilts a year. After purchasing one, she can create nearly a dozen beautiful large quilts a year, even more mini quilts and smaller-sized wall hangings. The ability to cut perfect shapes quickly with the AccuQuilt cutting system has changed everything about her quilting technique. She now spends more time designing her own patterns and tackles projects she never dreamed of making before. As one of the newest staff members, Mary Anne is excited to be part of the Sew What! inc. team and cannot wait to share her excitement, enthusiasm and project ideas with all of you! Mary Anne has two grown children and resides in Delaware with her husband. She is a national AccuQuilt Educator, a Jazzercise enthusiast, yoga newbie, avid gardener and travel lover. As an amateur photographer, many of her travel and gardening photos find their way into her quilts. Follow Mary Anne on Facebook here
