New Owners 1: Sewing Machine Introduction

New Owner's 1 provides an overview of your machine's basic sewing functions, including set up and threading, basic stitching, and how to adjust stitch settings. We will review care of your new machine, and discuss best practices while sewing. This class is all about getting you familiar with your new tool (because a sewing machine is just a power tool with a needle and thread)! Whether you’re interested in quilting, garment making, or just learning for fun, this class is the perfect starting point for your sewing journey.

Beginning Sewing: Home Décor Edition

New to sewing or ready to build confidence at the machine? Our Beginning Sewing Home Décor Edition is the perfect place to start. This project-based class walks you through essential sewing skills while creating useful, gift-worthy items for your home. You will learn how to follow simple patterns, measure and cut fabric accurately, sew straight seams, pivot corners, and finish edges. Along the way, you’ll complete a variety of beginner-friendly projects designed to introduce new techniques without feeling overwhelming. Projects include:: a table runner, an embellished kitchen towel, a basic throw pillow and a pillowcase. By the end of the class, you’ll have a collection of handmade home décor items and the confidence to tackle future sewing projects on your own. Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a refresher in sewing basics.

Fix It Friday

Fix It Friday is a free, monthly demonstration designed to help everyday people tackle the most common clothing and household sewing repairs with confidence. Each session focuses on one practical fix, things like hemming, replacing buttons, repairing seams, or simple mending techniques you can use right away at home. This class is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants straightforward solutions without advanced sewing skills. Fix It Friday is a live demonstration, not a hands-on workshop, making it easy to watch, learn, and take notes. Attendance is free, but preregistration is required to reserve your spot. Come curious, leave empowered, and keep your favorite items out of the donation pile ?????
